Situation: A patient with acute pulmonary edema had a blood pressure of 240/140.
Dr. Bad: It is due to heart damage.
Dr. Good: It is due to diastolic heart failure.
Lesson: Patients with significant elevation of blood pressure have mostly preserved left ventricular systolic function.
