Situation: A patient with asymptomatic sinus bradycardia after permanent pacemaker implantation developed lead infection.
Reaction: Oh my God! Why was PPI (Permanent pacemaker implantation) done?
Lesson: Make sure that PPI is not implanted in patients with sinus bradycardia without significant symptoms, Sinoatrial block or sinus arrest without significant symptoms, Asymptomatic prolonged RR intervals with atrial fibrillation or other causes of transient ventricular pause and asymptomatic bradycardia during sleep.
